Verizon Launches Unlimited Data Plan (VZ, TMUS)

Since Ellis announced at an investors summit last month that growth would be fairly consistent with last year, shares of Verizon have fallen by 7% .
Having spent several months in the last year improving their 4G LTE network, Verizon
Communications Inc. (VZ) is finally venturing into the unlimited data plan race,
The announcement comes as a massive U-turn for the company.
Unlike other networks, Verizon will not downgrade the quality of video calls
and streaming , however it said it might “prioritize usage behind other customers in the event of network congestion.”
Rivals Sprint (S) and T-Mobile (TMUS) have been offering unlimited data plans for a while now,
with Sprint dropping their unlimited data plan to a very competitive $50 only last month.

“We’ve built our network so we can manage all the activity customers undertake.
Single lines, meant for one user only start at $80 per month, while the multi-line which allows multiple users (up to 10) to access its plan features, starts at $100
and an additional $20 per user who is added to the plan.
